After Key Central Meeting, Jiangsu Party Secretary's First Visit to Kingwills—What Does It Signal?

On February 20th, Central Committee member and Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Xin Changxing, visited the Kingwills's Industrial Park for investigation and research. He delved into Kingwills's achievements in technological innovation, industrial development, and future planning in the new materials field. The founder and chairman of Kingwills Advanced Materials, Eric Chen, introduced Secretary Xin to Kingwills Technology Innovation Center and the production line of Hypak™.

Provincial Standing Committee member and Provincial Secretary-General Chu Yonghong, and Nantong city leader Wu Xinming, participated in the investigation.

During the visit, Secretary Xin Changxing emphasized the importance of thoroughly learning and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Private Entrepreneur Symposium to further promote the healthy and high-quality development of the private economy. He encouraged Kingwills Advanced Materials to continuously innovate and strive for technological peaks and to cultivate meticulously and empower various industries with new materials.

Kingwills's Original Aspiration: Focusing on "Materials China Cannot Make"

Since its establishment in 2014, Kingwills Advanced Materials has focused on high-barrier fields, adhering to a long-term strategy, willing to "not be profitable for ten years or generate income for five years" while persisting in deeply cultivating the high-performance materials track.

"We choose to do the most difficult things because this is what the country needs." said Eric Chen. The team started with flash evaporation technology and broke through the technological bottleneck over several years, eventually developing the mass production of Hypak™ material.

Currently, the annual production capacity of Kingwills Industrial Park has surpassed 15,000 tons, and it has received investment from top institutions like CNBM, Sinopec, Hillhouse Capital, Oriental Yuhong, and CICC Capital. "From raw materials to finished products, we have achieved 100% independent and controllable processes, with product performance metrics reaching or even surpassing international benchmarks."

Kingwills's Responsibility: Practicing Sustainable Development Goals

Since its inception, Kingwills Advanced Materials Industrial Park has integrated the ESG concept throughout its entire lifecycle. To create a low-carbon factory, Kingwills Industrial Park currently employs green electricity and green building technologies, including replacing traditional roofs with BIPV photovoltaic systems and collaborating with Zhongfu Energy and Oriental Yuhong to build waterproof, thermal-insulating, and breathable green workshops. Additionally, by recycling heat, water, and solvents and reusing waste materials, the park significantly reduces its environmental impact during production.

"Environmental protection and safety are not costs but returns for the sustainable operation of the enterprise," emphasized Eric Chen.

Kingwills's Talent: Global Intelligence Empowering Chinese Innovation

Kingwills Advanced Materials's core team includes professionals from top-tier institutions such as Harvard University, Germany's Max Planck Institute, the University of Melbourne, as well as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and other leading universities at home and abroad. Moreover, it has established the "Soochow University-Nantong Kingwills Material Research Institute" in collaboration with Soochow University, recruiting interdisciplinary talent globally and establishing an AI for material-assisted material research platform to support the discovery of more valuable new materials.

"Our talent selection standard is consistent with our technological path — we only do what others do not have," said Eric Chen.

Kingwills's Future: Breaking Through China's Existing Material Technology Bottlenecks

In the future, while deepening the flash evaporation process, Kingwills Advanced Materials will also focus on other unbroken new material processes. The next generation of innovation will concentrate on three frontier directions: semiconductors, new energy vehicles, and hydrogen production technology, continuously exploring the unknown fields of new materials.

Simultaneously, the establishment of the Nantong Kingwills-Soochow University Material Innovation Research Institute further provides a powerful platform support for the company's research and innovation. The research institute integrates the advantages of universities and enterprises, conducts in-depth industry-university-research cooperation, and accelerates the transformation and application of scientific research results. Here, researchers are committed to developing forward-looking and disruptive new material technologies, pointing the way for the future development of the industry.
